Animals invade Oxford library

Local kids got to learn about and interact with a variety of exotic animals last week when Science Alive, a hands-on educational program based in Waterford Township, brought some critters to the Oxford Public Library. Program Coordinator Terri Neill introduced the kids to a two-toed sloth, chinchilla, alligator, python, armadillo, wallaby and tortoise.

Concerts are back!

Downtown Oxford’s popular Concerts in the Park series returned to Centennial Park last week. The Randy Brock Group kicked things off with some classic rock. Concerts are held from 7-9 p.m. every Thursday. There’s an open microphone period from 6-7 p.m.  

Businesses buy body cams for village cops

Six local businesses along S. Glaspie St. pooled their resources and made a $5,400 donation to the Oxford Village Police Department last week to purchase body cameras for its officers.
