Cats drop another one

Homecoming did not equal victory for the Oxford’s varsity football team as the Wildcats lost to Bloomfield Hills 26-14.

The Cats drew first blood in the first quarter thanks to a 3-yard run by senior Devon Hudson.

The Hawks came back in the second quarter and scored two touchdowns to make the score 13-7 going into halftime.

An interception by Dakota Birr on the Hawks’ opening drive in the second half led to sophomore running back Drew Carpenter scoring a touchdown following a 3-yard run. Unfortunately, that would be Oxford’s last touchdown of the game.

Bloomfield Hills came roaring back scoring touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters.

Oxford racked up 105 passing yards to Bloomfield Hills’ 310 yards. The Cats accumulated 106 rushing yards, while the Hawks garnered 72 yards on the ground.

Hudson had 17 carries resulting in 59 yards, while Marcus Hufnagle racked up 37 yards on nine carries.
