Construction worker injured at OMS

A painter working in the new gymnasium at the current Oxford Middle School received several injuries after falling approximately 13 feet onto the unfinished concrete floor.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s report, David McGlasson, 37, of Warren, was working in a balcony area on April 20 when he leaned against a cable railing. The railing ‘broke away from its connecting device? causing Mr. McGlasson to fall.
Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Oxford Fire Department arrived at the school within minutes. Mr. McGlasson was treated at the scene for possible injuries to his arm and hip. He was transported by ambulance to P.O.H. Medical Center in Pontiac.
‘This is the first accident we’ve had up there,? Project Manager David Griggs told school board members at their April 27 regular meeting, ‘and it better be the last.?
Griggs added that Mr. McGlasson is doing well, but he will need several surgeries to repair his injuries.
