Cyclist struck by car

A 40-year-old Orion woman managed to avoid serious injury after she was stuck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle on May 24.
According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department, she was hit by a 19-year-old Lake Orion man making a right-hand turn onto westbound Waldon from southbound Joslyn Road.
The cyclist was in the crosswalk, attempting to cross Waldon while riding on Joslyn. The man, driving an SUV, said he never saw the woman on her bike.
OCSD deputies responded to the scene and issued a citation to the man, but the woman did not need medical attention and left the scene on her own.
