Dr. Steven Laurence Hartz

December 31, 1950 – November 14, 2023

Resident of Flint, MI from 1950 to 1985; Oxford, MI from 1985 to 2017; and retired to Wilmington, NC in 2018. Dr. Hartz was born in Flint, MI on December 31, 1950, a son of Dr. Arnold W. Hartz and the late Patricia M. Hartz. He was the beloved husband of Patricia L. Hartz of Wilmington, NC; father of Eric Hartz of Alameda, CA and Adam Hartz (Cameo) of Durham, NC. Grandfather of Vivien and Quinn Hartz of Durham, NC. Brother of Michael Hartz of Chicago, IL and Pamela Yoelin of Wilmington, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and numerous close friends. Dr. Hartz was a General Practice physician in Flint, MI; Lake Orion, MI; and Oxford, MI for more than 40 years. He was a loving family man, servant to all, avid outdoorsman and gardener, and classic car restorer. A Celebration of Life service was held at on Monday, November 20 at the Spiritual Soul Center located at 3403 Winston Blvd, Wilmington, NC 28403. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.

  1. Dr Hartz was my doctor back in Oxford. He was so kind. He saved my life. When urgent care misdiagnosed my symptoms, he knew immediately that it was my thyroid and I was in danger. I send prayers to his loved ones. May he rest in peace.
