FISH donates $500 to Strunks

On Monday, Oxford-Orion FISH joined the outpouring of love and community support for Pam and Hunter Strunk by donating $500 to the Addison mother and son.
FISH gave the Strunks a $250 check that will be put toward paying off a new specially-equipped van Pam is purchasing to help transport Hunter, 8, who’s confined to a wheelchair as a result of a rare brain disorder.
FISH also gave Pam and Hunter $250 worth of grocery and gasoline cards from Kroger and Meijer.
‘It’s more than I expected. I’m so overwhelmed,? Pam said. ‘That was very, very generous on their part because I know they’ve got so many families they adopt ? trying to keep food on their tables and clothing on their backs.?
Pam said she and her family have been donating to FISH since the 1970s.
‘My mom always pushed it being a member of St. Joe’s Catholic Church,? Pam said. ‘My mom told me before I came here, ‘You know what Pam? I’ve been donating to all these organizations ? every one of them that’s helped you, I’ve donated to them all these years ? and now it’s coming around.?
Pam said the Meijer cards will really come in handy for purchasing gas to drive Hunter to and from his doctor’s appointments in Detroit and Maidson Heights, and his wheelchair/orthosis repairs also in Madison Heights.
