Flyers cause stir in Addison

For the past week, an unknown person(s) has been putting negative flyers in the mailboxes of Addison Township residents targeting a controversial, but legal private shooting range in the township.
Sgt. Pete Burkett, commander of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Addison substation, is asking anyone who has information about who is making the flyers and distributing them to contact him or the Leonard Post Master.
Burkett said some residents are creating a ‘safety concern? for the shooting range’s owner by passing out these anger-filled flyers.
Burkett said this is a misdemeanor crime and punishable by a $300-plus fine.
If you have any information, call Sgt. Burkett at (248) 628-3600 or the Leonard Post Office at (248) 628-5243.
