Folks hit trail to battle breast cancer

The Polly Ann Trail was awash in a sea of pink ribbons and pink T-shirts as the 14.2-mile non-motorized path played host to two breast cancer fund-raisers over the weekend.
On Saturday, the Pink Ribbon Trailblazers hosted an event in which approximately 100 participants walked, ran and biked to raise approximately $9,000 to help fund mammograms for women who need them. The event kicked off in Powell Lake Township Park.
On Sunday, Centennial Park was the place to be as participants in the Tour de Pink fund-raiser mounted their bicycles, hit the trail and rode either 40 or 72 miles.
The Tour de Pink featured 77 riders this year, who raised more than $6,000 for the fight against breast cancer.
Great job and many thanks to all the folks who organized and participated in these terrific events. ? CJC
