Gerald J. Ingles, a longtime resident of Oxford, passed away peacefully on Dec. 7, 2018. He was 79.
Gerald was born on Oct. 7, 1939 to James and Erna (Krause) in Port Huron.
He was united in marriage to his love Judith on Jan. 30, 1960. The couple made their permanent home in Oxford in 1965. They were blessed with four boys.
Gerald worked on a few farms, worked as a welder, and ended his work career as a General Motors machine repairman.
He enjoyed helping in boy scouts, archery, taught hunter’s safety, loved fishing, hunting euchre, and the casino, but most of all he loved his family. He was very proud of all his boys, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was also an active member of the sportsman’s club and American Legion. He touched a lot of people. Gerald will be deeply missed but will be in our hearts forever.
Gerald was the beloved husband of Judith Ingles (Ferguson). Father of James, Kenneth, Dennis (Michelle) and Roger Ingles; cherished grandfather of James, Matthew, Andrew, Michael, Amanda, Kayla, Roger Jr., Kenneth Jr., Cassandra and Steven; great-grandfather of Deziree, Alexander, Collin, Kathryn, Brian, Logan and Emma. He is also survived by his siblings Nancy (Morris), Russel and Ronald Ingles.
A memorial luncheon in honor of Gerald was held at the American Legion Post 108 in Oxford on Dec. 15.
Donations may be made to the American Legion Post 108.
