Hoopsters suffer another loss

The Wildcat Varsity Basketball team is looking forward to Christmas break after another loss dropped their record to 1-4.
This time, no last second bucket was needed as Rochester Hills Stoney Creek beat the Wildcats 63-55 on Tuesday, Dec. 22.
The Cats showed some offense spark early, as they raced out to a 17-12 lead after the first quarter, but Stoney Creek fought back. They held the Wildcats to eight points in the second quarter, and used a late 6-0 run to take a 26-25 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Stoney Creek came out and started the third quarter like they ended the second, outscoring the Wildcats 8-2 early in the quarter to push their lead to 34-27.
However, the Wildcats were able to keep within striking distance throughout the third quarter, but still found themselves trailing by four entering the fourth.
The Stoney Creek offense was too much for the Wildcats to overcome however. Stoney Creek scored 21 fourth quarter points, offsetting the 17 the Wildcats put up.
Seniors Tommy Neiman and Gary Wurtz led the Wildcats with 11 points while Senior Kevin Cramer added 10.
The Wildcats open up the new year with home games against Fenton on Jan. 4 and Brandon on Jan. 8.
