Icers chalk up two more victories

The Varsity Boys hockey team capped off a perfect week, winning a tough non-conference game against Duran and their second-to-last conference game against Swartz Creek.
On Saturday, Feb 21, the boys defeated Duran High School 3-2 behind strong play from Senior Ben McLoskey and Junior Blaine Marney, who each had a goal and two assists for the Wildcats.
This victory followed an impressive 2-0 shutout of Swartz Creek. Junior Goalie Corey Hrischuk recorded his first shutout of the season, stopping all 35 shots he faced. Sophomores Tim Perks and Matt Reid both scored goals for Oxford.
‘This is a group of hard working boys,? said Oxford Head Coach Dave Hague. ‘These guys have lots of heart and character.?
The Wildcats improved their Flint Metro League record to 9-6, and a 12-10-1 overall record.
On Saturday, Feb 28 the Wildcat hockey team is inviting everyone to come out for Senior Night starting at 6:30 pm. The game will be at the Troy Sports Center at John R and Big Beaver. The cost is five dollars, which includes admission to the game and snacks, drinks and transportation to the game on the Fan Bus, which leaves the high school at 5:15 pm from in front of the pool area.
