Lacrosse suffers back-to-back losses

After embarrassing losses to Lake Orion and Saginaw Heritage, the Boy’s Varsity Lacrosse team went back to the drawing board for some new approaches.
Head Coach Brian Edwards called a team meeting where they went over what happened the last couple of games.
‘We broke down our offense and defense, everyone should have a new understanding of their assignments, and I expect us to be much more competitive for the rest of the year,? he said.
There first tests were games against Schwartz Creek, and they lost both by scores of 11-2 and 10-3. The losses dropped the Wildcats record to 0-5. John Krug and Brandon Miller scored the goals for the Wildcats.
Saturday’s game saw some bright spots. The Wildcats were able to hang in and capitalize on some of the SC mistakes in the first quarter, but it went downhill from there.
‘The mistakes we made on offense were careless (bad passes) and a product of succumbing to the pressure of needing to score goals with each possession. We forced our offense instead of letting it work itself,? said Coach Edwards.
Even with the tough losses, Coach Edwards still believes that his team can turn it around.
‘We’re starting from scratch this week. We have two practices to prepare for Rochester Hills Stoney Creek, probably our toughest opponent this year. We’ll walk through our defensive and offensive schemes, focus on 1 on 1 stick skills, footwork, body positioning, etc. I might even install a new offense,? he said.
