With one check in the win column already, the Lady Cats soccer team is planning to take the OAA White by storm this spring.

From the first two weeks of practice and play, Head Coach John Thaler said he sees a lot of skill and important chemistry from his girls.

He said he has a strong roster full of talent and expects every athlete to play a vital role this season.

“I have a very deep bench, so every single player will be expected to contribute to the overall success of the team,” he said.

The Lady Cats’ goal this year is to take home the OAA White title, so they’re working on overall improvement everyday to have a roster full of multi-faceted players.

In their most recent game on March 25, the ladies fell to the visiting Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks in a close 1-0 game.

The week before, Anchor Bay gave Oxford a 2-2 draw game on March 22. Juniors Megan Bouren and Lauren Methner scored the team’s two goals.

The ladies first game of the season gave them a non-conference win. Oxford took down Fenton 2-0 on the road on March 21. After a scoreless first half, Bouren and freshman Carly Boyd scored unanswered goals. Bouren was assisted by freshman Ava Kettler.

Now touting a 1-1-1 overall record after one week of play, the Lady Cats will be back at it tonight, March 27, as they travel to Waterford Mott.
