Losses continue plague lacrossers

The Varsity Lacrosse team suffered two more losses this week against Lapeer West and Rochester United.
Rochester United shut out the Wildcats 13-0 on Friday, May 14. Senior goalie Derick Stinson made eight saves for the Wildcats.
In their game against Lapeer West on Monday, May 17, the Wildcats lost 8-4. Four players scored goals for Oxford – junior Austin Bryant, freshman Piper Thaler, junior Konrad Thaler and senior Adam Cook.
Cook and junior Josh Kimbrough got the only assists for Oxford, and Stinson made 12 saves.
Oxford takes on Powers Catholic High School at home starting a 6 p.m. in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Regionals on Friday, May 21.
Head Coach Joe Zmikly said that the team was looking forward to playing Powers Catholic.
‘We feel like it’s a team that we can match up with and give ourselves a chance. It’s been a tough year, but the guys have kept their heads up. We just need to find a way to put four solid quarters together and see what happens,? he said.
