Morning commuter crashes, arrested for OWI

A 21-year-old Goodrich man was on his way to work Monday morning, but never made it there because he got arrested for drunken driving instead.
Driver Nathan Lee Wallace caused a two-vehicle crash on M-24, just north of Oakdell Road, around 7 a.m., according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s report.
Wallace was northbound on M-24 in his 1999 Jeep Cherokee when, according to the report and witnesses, he swerved into the southbound lanes. He crashed into the passenger side of a southbound 2008 Subaru, driven by a 34-year-old Oxford man.
Neither driver was taken to the hospital.
Deputy David Ross described Wallace’s face as ‘flushed? and his eyes as ‘watery.?
‘I could smell alcohol on his breath as he spoke,? Ross wrote in the report.
A preliminary breath test administered in the field indicated Wallace had a blood alcohol content of 0.127. Two more breath tests administered at the Oxford Village Police station indicated he had a BAC of 0.13.
Wallace admitted to the deputy he had ‘three or four beers? the night before, but stated he drank his last beer around midnight.
Wallace was cited for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and taken to the Oakland County Jail.
