Netters work on consistently

The games started strong for the Dragons, but ended in 15-10 and 15-6 losses to Rochester in varsity volleyball action at Lake Orion High School on Jan. 23.
“They played really well…we got to 10 and just slacked off a bit,” said Lake Orion head coach Jennifer Ohlrich of the first game against the Falcons. “Aubrey Dyl, Stephanie Keteyian and Lindsey Randazzo all played well.”
Lake Orion’s top servers were Rachel Papke with four and Alex Balten with three. Dyl scored three for the team.
“They play really well at times, but sometimes we don’t click together,” said Ohlrich. “We’ve had some kids out sick…we really miss Tiffany (Zink).”
Lake Orion hit the road on Jan. 27 against West Bloomfield, dropping two games to the Lakers.
The Dragons lost the first game 15-8 and the second 15-7. West Bloomfield’s Brittany von Behren had 21 assists, and Amanda Hodgins had 12 digs for the Lakers. Eden Brand had eight kills for West Bloomfield.
Lake Orion hosts Ferndale on Thursday.
“We saw Ferndale already this season…we beat them twice at the Imlay City Invitational,” Ohlrich said. “It should be a good game.”
