OHS Marching Band receives 1st Division rating

As the football season ends, so does the season for those who bring music to the stands. With all of their hard work, their many accomplishments cannot go unnoticed.
The Oxford High School Marching Band, under the direction of Jim Gibbons, Patrick Parrish and Gary Ashton, has for the seventh year in a row received a 1st Division rating (the highest rating possible) from the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association at the Michigan Band Festival October 15.
Prior to that, the band tested out their brand new uniforms at the Romeo Peach Festival parade on Labor Day. Parents considered it a ‘professional and classy performance.?
This year’s half-time show rocked the crowd at the home football games, too.
Music from the show ‘Riverdance,? the movie ‘Austin Powers,? and the song ‘Hey Ya!? from rap group Outkast got the crowd on their feet.
With all these great accomplishments, be sure to congratulate them for their hard work and a job well done this season!
