Oxford Lakes kids collect $1,142 for hurricane relief

A group of Oxford Lakes children collected more than $1,000 over a five-hour period Friday to help relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina survivors.
From going door-to-door collecting returnable bottles and cans to selling lemonade, popcorn and other goodies from a small stand on Oxford Lakes Drive, the 13 compassionate kids raised an impressive $1,142 for the American Red Cross.
