Oxford washes West Bloomfield away

In the 200 Medley Relay, Oxford’s A Relay of Lucas Sereno, junior Michael Scepka, junior Garrett Warren and freshman Carter Pollard took first with a time of 1:47.15. Oxford’s B Relay of Alex Olheiser, Jonah Grove, Bradlee Weltyk and Gage Warzecha finished in third place.

 In the 200 Freestyle,junior Captain Brandon Powers came in first with a time of 1:56.00, which puts him fifth on Oxford’s All-Time Top Ten List. Olheiser touched fourth for Oxford.

 In the 200 Individual Medley, Warren finished second with a season-best time of 2:07.28. Grove and Weltyk took third and fifth place, respectively.

 In the 50 Freestyle, Pollard touched third with a season-best time of 23.69, putting him ninth on the All-Time Top Ten List. Seniors Travis Butler and Mario Scribner rounded out the top five.

In the diving portion, junior Mitchell Mulligan took first with a score of 216.95.

 In the 100 Butterfly, Pollard finished second with another season-best time of 59.87, which puts him ninth on the All-Time Top Ten List again. Sereno came in third and Trenton Sabo came in fifth.

 In the 100 Freestyle, Warren touched second with a time of 51.91, which puts him ninth on the All-Time Top Ten List again. Scepka and Zack Acton finished in fourth and fifth place respectively.

 In the 500 Freestyle, Powers claimed his second first-place finish of the night with a time of 5:16.25, moving him up to third on the All-Time Top Ten List. Cameron Mumbrue took third and Lochlan Palmrose touched in fifth place.

 In the 200 Freestyle Relay, Oxford’s A Relay of Scepka, Sabo, Butler, and Powers came in second with a time of 1:37.47.

In the 100 Backstroke, Sereno claimed second place points for Oxford with a time of 1:01.45. Olheiser and Acton finished in third and fifth place, respectively.

In the 100 Breaststroke, Scepka took first with a time of 1:09.82. Grove and Thomas Giberson touched in third and fourth place, respectively.

In the 400 Freestyle Relay, Oxford’s A Relay of Butler, Pollard, Warren, and Powers finished first, with a time of 3:33.34.

Next week the Wildcats swim team hosts Royal Oak on Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. before traveling to North Farmington on Thursday, Jan. 26.

Both games will be the last two chances for the swimmers and divers to qualify for the Oakland County Championships, February 3 and 4 at Waterford Mott.

Currently, diver Mitchell Mulligan and swimmers Lucas Sereno and Garrett Warren have qualified individually.
