Oxford Women’s Club awards $9,600 in scholarships

The Oxford Women’s Club recently awarded $9,600 in scholarships to six Oxford High School graduates – Jennifer Brasington, Sandra DeLoy, Madison Meiser, Amanda Picot, Mandalyn Sterner, and Jenna VanLoon. Each student received a $1,600 scholarship to pursue their educational dreams.

For more than 80 years, the Oxford Women’s Club has been serving our community. In the past few decades, the membership of approximately 25 women has focused on raising funds to provide scholarships for students living within the Oxford School District or attending an Oxford area school. Scholarships are available to both young women and men and can be used for college or vocational training.

Club members raise money through various fundraising events, including a fall fashion show and a wine tasting held the last Sunday in January. All the money raised goes to scholarships and small grants to worthwhile efforts, such as Oxford/Addison Youth Assistance, Girls’ State Citizen Training Program, and Oxford-Orion FISH.
