Oct. 28: Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of Wyndham Dr. at 11:14 p.m., where a home invasion was allegedly taking place. The suspect fled from the home prior to the deputies’ arrival. The homeowner, told deputies he had allegedly been purchasing food when he received an alert on his cell phone that there was an intruder in his home. The homeowner told deputies he had witnessed the suspect on a phone application walking around his home. The suspect was described as a 6-foot black man in his mid 40s wearing a dark colored sweatshirt. A later search revealed two pairs of jeans, two shirts, several pairs of underwear and two steaks from a deep freezer.

Oct. 28: Oxford Village Police were called to a home located near the intersection of Bay Pointe Dr. and Sunset Blvd. at 7:50 p.m., where a noise violation was allegedly taking place. Upon arrival, police heard loud music and children playing, along with an “extremely” loud voice over a DJ PA system. According to the report, police approached the home and found a party, with over 20 children present, to be taking place. The DJ agreed to turn down the PA system at first but, as the police were leaving, allegedly announced loudly to the children that they must all listen to his instructions “or else the police will come arrest them all and take them to jail.” Police returned to the party and told the group of children that they would not arrest them and asked the DJ again to turn down the volume and not to tell the children that police will arrest them. The DJ complied and turned down the speakers. Police smiled at the children, gave them stickers and left. At 8:20 p.m., a 40-year-old who owned the home allegedly called Oxford Village Police screaming that he has “30 small children who are terrified of police” and that “it is not fair” that police had asked to turn down the volume at 8 p.m. According to the report, the man threatened to “sue the police department” and stated that he “has the largest house, so he pays high taxes and it is not fair for him to be treated this way” and demanded that officers return to speak with him. Upon their return, police allegedly found the homeowner to be “extremely intoxicated” and unsucessfully attempted to explain the situation to him. The homeowner then allegedly told police “I bet if Calvin Johnson was here, you guys wouldn’t have said anything.” The man’s wife, who was also allegedly intoxicated according to the report, asked police to leave, stating that they had scared the children.

Oct. 24: Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 600 block of S. Lapeer Rd. at 1:08 a.m. due to an alleged domestic disturbance. The caller, a 32-year-old man called after his 35-year-old ex-girlfriend, who lived with him, had allegedly pushed him. According to the report, the two had been arguing and things escalated after the woman had been backed into a kitchen corner by the man. It was at that point, the woman told deputies, that she had pushed his chest and left the room to avoid potential assault. The man agreed to leave the home for the night and both parties were given multiple long-term solutions to their current residency issue by deputies.
