Threatening tenant

An employee at a group home in Oxford called Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies after allegedly having her life threatened around midnight on Aug. 29. According to the sheriff’s report, a male tenant had returned from the hospital that day and, upon entering the house, immediately started toward the employee saying that if she called the police, he would not hesitate to kill her. The employee ran to the bathroom and locked the door, during which time the tenant turned to another employee, allegedly threatening to kill her as well and tear apart the home. When deputies arrived, they took the tenant to Common Ground in Pontiac.

Please, feed your dog

A 49-year-old Oxford woman called officers on Aug. 29 after supposedly seeing her neighbor’s dog, Zues, deteriorate from lack of food. The woman told deputies the dog wasn’t fed enough and was “deathly” ill. According to the report, she told officers that she used to live with her neighbor, a 25-year-old man, and that he did not like her playing with his dog. When officers approached the man and asked to see Zues, the report states that they could observe no injury and Zues was a “little” underweight but did not look sickly. The man said he wanted to take Zues to the vet for a nail clipping and checkup soon, and showed officers a full bag of dog food.

Lock up those guns

Over a year after she last checked on her guns, a 52-year-old Oxford woman called sheriff’s deputies on Aug. 29 to report that three of her nine firearms had been stolen. The guns, belonging to her late husband, were kept in an unlocked safe in her home and were last checked near Christmas 2017, according to the report. The women told officers that she has no idea who may have taken the guns and that she regularly has people to her home. The stolen firearms are a New Ruger AR-15, a New Mossberg AR-15 and a Remington 270. The report states there are no suspects at this time and this is an open case.

More than marijuana

The parents of an 18-year-old Oxford man called officers to restrain their son after he allegedly took an unknown drug. The report statesd that when officers entered the home, they observed the father restraining the man’s legs while his mother restrained his arms. The report describes him as violent, thrashing and yelling incoherently. Officers questioned his friend, a 19-year-old, who told them that they had smoked a joint together, but he did not see his friend take another drug. Still acting outlandish, the man was transported to a hospital with the help of deputies, during which he continued to thrash and break restraints.
