Senior softball team wins division championship

The 2018 Oxford senior softball team recently completed its 13th season in the Northwest Parks and Recreation 55 and older softball league.
The team played 24 regular season games finishing as Division Champions in the ā€œCā€ division. They won 17 games and lost seven.
This is the fourth division championship in the past six years for the Oxford Seniors.
Additionally, in the post season double elimination tournament, Oxford was again victorious by winning all three of their games and winning their fifth playoff championship.
The team finished the season with record of 20-7.
The Oxford team consisted of 17 players from the Oxford area which included six players that have with the team during the full 13 years. During the last seven years the team has won over 65 percent of their games with a 128-69 record, which included nine championship trophies (four league and five playoffs).
The Oxford team is sponsored by the Oxford Parks and Recreation department along with Health Quest Physical Therapy and the 24th Street Tavern.
Members of the team included Vinny Adragna, Doug Dalton, Wendel Thames, Larry Jansen, Rich Katich, Curt Kowalski, Mike Neymanowski, Gary Terenzi, Rand Kulkis, Roger Ruggiero, Sam Antonazzo, Dave Cunningham, Rick Ihrke, Paul Cervenek, Dwayne Chivas, Greg Green and John Calkins.
The team was managed by John Calkins and assisted by Vinny Adragna and our official score keepers were Pat Dalton and Jean Terenzi.
