Ski team ready to hit the slopes, place high

The Oxford-Brandon coed ski team is ready to hit the slopes again this season and do even better than last season’s third place in divisionals.
Coach Ed Haley said his team of 18 skiiers are ready to be number one and that the team will improve greatly from last year.
Haley said the team’s main weaknesses from last season tend to be the slalom and giant slalom’s, but that returning seniors can help strengthen the team and lead the nine incoming freshman to victory.
‘I have two girl seniors coming back and two boy seniors coming back,? he said. ‘I’ve also got two CUSSA racers.?
Haley said to look for captain seniors Karen Offer, Aaron VanDis along with senior Miranda Christen to lead the team in runs this season. Flushing is the team to beat this season
Last season, Haley said the girls were prominant in winning and that the boys were in their developing stages.
‘They should be better this year,? he said.
Flushing is the team to beat this season and Coach Haley has no doubts they’ll come out on top.
Check out the team’s first meet, January 11 at Mt. Holly.
