Softball team goes 4-0 last week

Oxford’s softball team stayed strong last week by collecting four more wins, bringing the team to 6-1 overall on the season.

On April 21, at the Lake Orion Tournament, the Lady Cats softball team continued its winning streak, collecting wins against Dakota High and Stevenson.

The Wildcats won with a 2-0 score against Dakota that day. Oxford pitcher Kaitlyn Bean pitched a two-hitter, striking out 12. Emma Morris had two hits, including a big hit in the third inning to give Bean all the support she would need.

The Lady Cats also took a 7-0 win against Stevenson. Hannah Vachon pitched lights out throwing a 1 hitter with 10 strikeouts.

Meghan Lupu had two hits and Caroline Marsh added a pair of RBIs. Sarah Tyrrell and Vachon each chipped in a pair of hits.

An April 19 double-header against Stoney Creek was swept by the Lady Cats softball team. In game 1, Oxford won with a 10-0 score.

The Lady Cats once again received stellar pitching from Kaitlyn Bean, as she threw five innings, striking out 12, and gave up one hit.

The offense was led by Lauren Donaldson who was a single shy of batting for the cycle. Donaldson also had four RBIs.

Sarah Campbell, Sarah Tyrrell, and Chloe Allen each collected two hits apiece.

In game 2, Oxford took another win from Stoney Creek with an 8-6 score. Hannah Vachon pitched a complete game with 15 strikeouts. She also had three hits and two RBIs. Donaldson pounded out two more hits and Campbell added two RBIs.
