Students ‘brush up? on dental hygiene

On Feb. 11, Clarkston Elementary first grade students received a special visit from Clarkston Village Dental.
To honor National Children’s Dental Health Month, Dr. Robert Bice, of Clarkston Village Dental, sent workers to teach the students about dental hygiene.
Hygienist Amy Wilson and dental assistant Jann Neil explained the importance of teeth ? how to brush, how often, what to eat and what certain foods do to teeth.
With the help of visual aides, Wilson helped the children understand about healthy teeth and gums. Once dental professionals completed their presentation, students got another wonderful surprise.
Dr. Bice, Wilson and Neil worked together to prepare goodie bags for over 300 teachers and students. The bags contained a toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, a Clarkston Village Dental mirror and, most importantly, a sugar-free sucker.
The staff at Clarkston Village Dental said they look forward to participating next year.
