Township moves forward with proposed medical facility

In accordance with the Michigan Zoning Enabling Act of 2006, the Charter Township of Oxford Planning Commission will have a public hearing on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m.
Taking place in the Township Meeting Room at 300 Dunlap Rd., the hearing will allow public comments and the commission will present their plan for the development of a two-phased medical facility on a vacant parcel of land north of downtown.
Composed of 27 acres, the undeveloped property is currently zoned C-2 and located south of Market St. and north of the Elm Park Subdivision on the east side of Lapeer Rd. (M-24). This is the property Beaumont wants to build on.
The proposed first phase of development would consist of a 100,000-square-foot ambulatory building, followed by a 225,000-square foot hospital building as the second phase.
Further information is available at the Township Clerk Department during standard business hours – 8 a.m.-5 p.m. – Monday through Thursday.
