Orion Township Buildings and Grounds Director Reenae Tulip and township building official Tom Berger will work together to develop a plan for the restoration of Union Church, to be presented to the township board at a future meeting.
The township board requested a detailed plan for restoration of the church for Phase I, which will be to get a certificate of occupancy for the building which is owned by the township but located in the village. The board also approved signing a contract with architect Stephen Auger & Associates for base drawings and measurements for the church, at a cost not to exceed $2,500.
