Consumers Energy has been replacing gas lines along M-24 between Drahner Rd. and Santon St. since early November in preparation for a major construction project to restore a four-mile segment of M-24 beginning in March and running through most of 2020.
The utility company is on track to complete this phase of the project by Jan. 24, said Consumers Energy spokesperson Debra Dodd. Another phase, relocating gas veins north of Stanton St., will begin in early April in conjunction with Michigan Department of Transportation.
Detailed maps of the projects are on display in the community room at the village office, 22 W. Burdick St. More information can be found at restorem-24.com.
