“We struggled tonight but really showed some toughness by pulling out the victory,” said Head Coach JR Lafnear. “We have some really tough matches coming up and we’ll need to bowl better than we did tonight. I was proud of how the team rallied tonight when they didn’t have their best stuff.”

The team is currently at the top of the Oakland Activities Association (OAA) Red Division, touting a 6-0 overall record.

The girls varsity bowling team had an equally successful night.

Following their second-place finish at the county meet last weekend the Wildcat girls kept the momentum going, defeating the Raiders of North Farmington 26-4 on Jan. 19.

After winning both baker games that night, the team took it even further, winning 4 of the next 5 matches.

Megan Kessler scored games of 223 and 203.

Claire Sandstrom shot 160 and 186. Megan Armbruster also chipped in with a 180 game.

“These girls are doing a great job. They just keep bowling well and winning matches. They did what they need to do tonight as a team and that’s all you can ask,” said Lafnear.

The Lady Wildcats bowling team is 6-0 overall.

Both teams will compete against Troy, Jan. 30 at 5 Star Lanes (2666 Metro Parkway, Sterling Heights) at 4 p.m.
