Wildcat kickers end season

INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP – The Wildcats finished the season in the MHSAA Division 1 Girls Soccer District 6 Semifinal against Clarkston on May 31, 6-2.

The Wolves scored first with a goal from Emerson Wood less than five minutes into the game.

Sophomore Vivian Cruz tied the game with the first goal for the Wildcats with an assist from junior Ella Boyd with 22:33 remaining in the first half.

Clarkston responded with two more goals before the first half closed from Wood. Wood added her fourth goal ten minutes into the second half. Less than four minutes later, Macie Moscovic put the Wolves up 5-1 with her goal.

Oxford’s second goal was made by senior Alexandria Dawood with 23:09 left in the game, putting the score, 5-2.

The Wildcats won the first round of district playoffs with a 4-3 win over Lapeer.

Oxford finished the season with an overall record 12-5-3 and as OAA White League champions.
