Wildcats set slopes of snow on fire

Harsh winds and freezing temperatures are nothing to the men and women of the Oxford/Brandon ski team who burned up the slopes at Mt. Holly this past week.
This past Wednesday, the Lady Cat skiers defeated Holly 22-57; and on Monday they continued their speed by sliding past Carman-Ainsworth 26-44.
Against Holly, the Oxford ladies claimed all four top positions on the slalom: in first Karen Offer at 39:72, second Grace Auchterlonie at 42:52, third Anna Stanczyk at 43:93 and fourth Lauren Baylliss at 46:99.
On the giant slalom: Auchterlonie took first with 26:59, Offer second with 26:64 and Stanczyk fourth with 27:43.
Against Carman-Ainsworth, the girls took the top three positions in slalom with first going to Karen Offer at 31:32, second to Auchterlonie at 33:15 and third to Heather Tiffany at 36:51.
Once again the ladies claimed the top spots on the giant slalom: Auchterlonie in first with 25:49, Offer in second with 27:13 and Tiffany in third with 28:00.
The Oxford girls ski team record now stands at 4-2.
The Wildcat men had just as good of a week as their counterparts winning against Holly 32-41 and then against Carman-Ainsworth 26-53.
On the slalom against Holly Dan Offer took first at 32:20 and Tim Smith took fourth at 46:99.
The Wildcat skiiers then slid their way into the top two positions on the giant slalom with Dan Offer in at 23:86 and Jeff Haselhuhn in at 24:27.
In the meet against Carman-Ainsworth, the men ruled the slalom: Dan Offer grabbed first at 24:50, Smith third at 26:67 and Haselhuhn fourth at 27:01.
On the giant slalom, Offer again took first with 22:71, Haselhuhn took second with 23:24 and Smith took fourth with 24:45.
The boy’s record now stands at 5-1 as they hit the slopes in a tri-meet against Grand Blanc and Saginaw Heritage this Monday.
