Wildcats split against Clarkston

After a week-long break due to the repeated ice storms, the Wildcat baseball team came back on Saturday to split against Clarkston in a doubleheader. The team record now stands 2-3 overall.
In the first game, the Wildcats lost to Clarkston 5-1. Pitcher Andrew Bukoski took the loss after six innings with seven strike outs and only four hits.
‘Clarkston scored four of their five runs in the first inning,? said coach Kurt Nuss. ‘Once Bukoski settled in he held them in place.?
Oxford returned to defeat Clarkston 4-3 in the second game. Pitcher Sean Maher led the team to victory with 16 strike outs and only four hits over seven innings.
‘There just isn’t anything to really say about the group offensively for his one,? said Nuss.
The games against Romeo and Flint Kearsley were cancelled due to weather, power outages and the school closings. Neither will be rescheduled.
The Wildcats begin league action tomorrow (Thursday) against Goodrich.
