The Oxford Women’s Club recently awarded $10,000 in scholarships to eight Oxford students.

Recipients are Chloe Allen, Sarah Campbell, Keaton Cleland, Emma DiMalanta, Garrett Hill, Lance Kennedy, Alexis McGuire and Anna Peruski.

Each student received a $1,250 scholarship to pursue their educational dreams.

For 87 years, the Oxford Women’s Club has been serving our community.

The membership of approximately 20 women focuses on raising funds to provide scholarships for students living within the Oxford School District or attending an Oxford area school. Scholarships are available to both young women and men, and can be used for college or vocational training.

Club members raise money through various fundraising events, including an October fall fashion show, a wine tasting held the last Sunday in January, and other events. All money raised goes to scholarships or small grants to local worthwhile efforts, such as Oxford/Addison Youth Assistance, Girls’ State Citizen Training Program, and FISH.

The women’s club and the Polly Ann Trail Management Council are co-hosting a Family 5K Walk on Saturday, June 1 from 9:30 a.m. to noon. Registration begins at 9 a.m. at Evergreens Coffee and Bake Shop at 33 Pleasant Street. All donations will go to support scholarships and the Polly Ann Trail.
